The new exhibition titled 'Pasolini en Clair-Obscur' (or
'Pasolini in Chiaroscuro' in English) at the Nouveau Musée National de
Monaco's Villa Sauber will delve into the intersection of art and film.
Scheduled to open to the public on March 29th, it promises an exploration of this captivating relationship.
The exhibition will explore the impact of both contemporary and
classical painting on Pier Paolo Pasolini's cinematic body of work.
Additionally, it will examine how his filmmaking endeavors were deeply
intertwined with his admiration for painting.
While
Pasolini is chiefly remembered as a writer and a prominent figure in the
LGBTQ+ community today, his global recognition stemmed from his
distinctive contributions to cinema.
Drawing from influences spanning from the Baroque to the
contemporary era, his filmmaking style was marked by a unique
individuality rich in artistic allusions. Pasolini also had a penchant
for adorning sets with artwork, further showcasing his appreciation for
the visual arts.
The title 'Pasolini en
Clair-Obscur' exhibition draws inspiration from the chiaroscuro
technique, reminiscent of Baroque art, which played a significant role
in Pasolini's black and white films. It highlights his innovative
incorporation of renowned artworks, such as those by Caravaggio, as
dynamic elements within his movies. These artworks were either
transformed into "living paintings" or seamlessly integrated to
encapsulate their essence in cinematic moments.
Illustrating Pasolini's profound connections to the art realm, the
exhibition will also unveil insights into his encounters with Francis
Bacon and his partnerships with Fabio Mauri. Offering a comprehensive
examination of Pasolini's multifaceted works, the exhibition encompasses
his films, poetry, and essays.
The exhibition will be open until
September 29th. Admission to the Villa Sauber on 17 Avenue Princesse
Grace is €6, and the venue is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm. During the
summer, the opening hours are adjusted to 11 am to 7 pm.
During the Monte-Carlo Summer Festival and Fight Aids Monaco's
20th anniversary, Stars 80 will bring an evening of pure 80s nostalgia
to the Principality in July.
On July 6th, at the
prestigious Salle des Étoiles, the cast of Stars 80's newest tour,
Encore!, will take the spotlight as the main act for a 1980s-themed
dinner show, supporting Fight Aids Monaco.
The dynamic group draws inspiration from the iconic French film with the
same title. The movie depicts the journey of two devoted fans of 1980s
music who manage a struggling impersonation company. Just as they're on
the brink of bankruptcy, they stumble upon a box of tapes showcasing
forgotten stars of the era, sparking a mission to revive their careers
on stage.
The stage adaptation of the film has garnered immense popularity
among fans throughout France, attracting over 4.5 million theater
attendees. Now, the production is making its way to Monaco.
Tickets
are available starting from €260, with proceeds going towards Princess
Stéphanie’s Fight Aids Monaco charity, marking its 20th anniversary in
2024.
Doors will open at 8 pm, followed by the
concert at 10:30 pm. Valet parking will be provided, and the event is
suitable for ages seven and above.
The eagerly awaited Bal de la Rose, organized in support of the
Princess Grace Foundation, will adopt a "Disco" theme this year. Held at
the prestigious Salle des Étoiles in Sporting Monte-Carlo, the event
promises a glamorous and unforgettable evening.
For nearly seven
decades, the esteemed charity gala known as the Bal de la Rose has
graced Monaco's social calendar with its presence.
Regarded as one
of Monaco's most opulent charity gatherings, the Rose Ball serves as a
nexus for distinguished figures from both local and global spheres.
Foremost among them are members of the Monegasque princely family, whose
presence and contributions help shape and support the charitable cause.
Established in 1954 by Princess Grace, the event is now overseen by her
daughter, HRH Princess Caroline of Hanover. It is Princess Caroline who
traditionally inaugurates the ball, accompanied by her brother, HSH
Prince Albert II. Alongside them, the attendance of Grimaldi family
members and luminaries from film, music, sports, and entertainment
imbues the evening with a distinctive allure.
Attendees can anticipate a spectacular display set within a
magnificent venue. Embracing both tradition and contemporary flair, the
Rose Ball annually unveils a new theme, creatively interpreted by
artists to deliver an evening of captivating entertainment.
It's
important to recognize that the Bal de la Rose transcends its status as
an exclusive social event, extending far beyond mere revelry. Primarily,
it serves as a philanthropic endeavor with global impact, channeling
proceeds from raffles and coveted prizes such as sculptures and
paintings to the Princess Grace Foundation since 1964.
The primary mission of the foundation is to assist individuals facing
hardship, particularly disadvantaged children, by spearheading
humanitarian and philanthropic initiatives.
Tickets for the Bal de
la Rose this Saturday, March 23rd, are currently sold out but there is a
waiting list available for those that are still interested.
Renting a villa on the French Riviera can be an exciting experience,
offering luxury, stunning views, and a taste of the glamorous lifestyle
of the region.
The optimal approach to achieving your desires is through thoughtful planning and maintaining a realistic outlook.
Here are some tips to ensure a smooth villa rental journey:
Start Early:
It cannot be expressed enough to begin your search for a villa well in
advance, especially if you are planning to visit during peak seasons
like summer.
This allows you to have a wider selection and better chances of securing your desired property, at a possibly better rate.
Typically, anything on the lower end of the price scale and closest to the beaches is booked up first.
Also,
when properties start booking up completely in an area, bidding wars
begin so when you find something suitable, don’t hesitate to book.
Define Your Needs: Dates for your arrival and departure are very important as villas are booked weekly only (Sunday to Sunday).
In
recent years, there has been a notable trend towards longer bookings,
with guests using the property as a hub for exploring other areas within
the region or even venturing into Europe.
Whether
you plan to stay for a week or a couple of months, informing the agent
will assist in refining the search within the database to better suit
your needs.
Establish a boundary for yourself
regarding how many property options are suitable. Through our
experience, we've observed that the more properties individuals
consider, the more they tend to anticipate finding a perfect one.
Consequently, they delay booking until it's often too late.
There
is a diverse range of architectural styles available in the region.
Decide whether you prefer to stay in a contemporary property or
something with a more Provencal charm.
Determine
your requirements in terms of the number of bedrooms, amenities (pool,
garden, proximity to the beach, etc.), and location preferences before
you start searching.
Consider Location:
The French Riviera offers various locations, each with its charm and
attractions. Research different towns and villages to find the one that
suits your preferences in terms of ambiance, accessibility, and
activities.
Properties located closer to the beaches and sea command higher prices.
Thankfully,
transportation options, whether by car or public transit, are excellent
in the area. As a result, many visitors indulge in extensive
exploration to make the most of their holiday time.
Keep
in mind that popular locations and their surrounding areas such as
Saint Tropez, Cannes, and Saint Jean Cap Ferrat are in high demand so
they tend to book out first.
Budget Wisely:
So that there are no surprises, set a realistic budget for your villa
rental, taking into account additional costs such as cleaning fees,
security deposits, and any extra services you may require during your
stay.
Don’t fall for the social media dream post of
a property. A villa rental posted on social media represents a
lifestyle not all of us can afford and tends to be posted aiming toward
that agency’s clientele base.
For instance, a
property featuring a vast pool on sprawling private grounds with eight
bedrooms and parking for ten cars near a beach with breathtaking sea
views will come with a hefty price tag. Consider whether it
realistically fits into your budget.
Agents have
heard everything so you are not judged on what you want to spend, you
will be more respected for indicating your budget and they can provide
results sooner knowing your limit. Even the most wealthy of individuals
have a budget they want to stay within.
For more
than 13 years, Experience The French Riviera has established itself in
the region. Throughout this period, we've earned a reputation for
prioritizing our clients' needs over commissions. We're committed to
ensuring our clients find rental properties within their budget, even if
it means accepting a lower commission ourselves to make it happen.
Check Rental Terms:
Carefully review the rental agreement, including cancellation policies,
payment schedules, and any additional fees or charges. Make sure you
understand all the terms and conditions before making a reservation.
The
amount of guests is always very specific for a property. Keep in mind
that inviting another group of family or friends for the same stay can
breach your contract and you may be asked to leave immediately.
Verify Amenities and Services:
Confirm that the villa offers all the amenities and services you need
for a comfortable stay. This may include air conditioning, internet
access, housekeeping, chef services, and transportation arrangements.
Secure Transportation:
Plan your transportation arrangements in advance, especially if you're
arriving by air. Consider renting a car or arranging for private
transfers to explore the region conveniently.
Communicate with the Host or Agency:
Maintain open communication with the villa rental agency throughout the
booking process. Clarify any doubts or special requests you may have to
ensure everything is arranged to your satisfaction. Ask as many
questions as you want, an agency should have nothing to hide.
Prepare for Your Stay:
Pack accordingly based on the weather and activities you plan to enjoy
during your time on the French Riviera. Don't forget to bring any
necessary travel documents, medications, and personal items.
Most anything you can get in your home country is also available here in case there is something you have forgotten.
We maintain enduring business alliances with leading agencies
in the area. Therefore, if there's anything you require that isn't
currently within our database, we can promptly connect you with one of
our trusted partners without delay.
By following
these tips, you can enhance your villa rental experience on the French
Riviera and create unforgettable memories in this beautiful destination.

Monaco
Ports has recently unveiled the specifics of its latest attraction, the
Monaco Ports Lounge, a floating grandstand positioned strategically at

the pinnacle of F1 racing events worldwide and is a welcomed addition by
other events companies.
“Monaco is such an iconic event, not only for Formula 1 but
