When planning a vacation or a weekend getaway, the goal is often to
escape daily stress and unwind. So why not choose one of the most
relaxing cities in the world?
Ranking the Most Relaxing CitiesTo help
travelers find the perfect place to recharge, Haypp conducted a major
study to determine the most Zen city in Europe. Researchers analyzed 25
European cities based on seven key criteria, including traffic
congestion, access to public transportation, and the presence of green
spaces. They also evaluated the number of wellness centers and ongoing
development projects dedicated to relaxation.
Oslo, Norway,
secured second place with a relaxation score of 75.18/100, thanks to its
81 natural spaces and diverse wellness center offerings. Vienna,
Austria, ranked third with a score of 70.88/100, boasting 112 spas and
83 green spaces. Known for its stunning architecture and rich
gastronomy, Vienna has become an increasingly popular destination for
French travelers, with direct flights from major French cities in under
two hours.
The Most Relaxing City: Nice, France
Claiming
the top spot with a score of 75.36/100, Nice, France, stands out for its
excellent public transportation system, which makes exploring the city
effortless. With 49 green spaces and 97 wellness centers, Nice offers
countless ways to relax while soaking in the sun-drenched atmosphere of
the French Riviera. It’s no surprise the city is especially beloved by
international visitors, particularly English-speaking tourists.
With
over 2,600 hours of sunshine per year—even in winter—Nice exudes a laid
back charm. Visitors can browse the outdoor markets, indulge in diverse
culinary experiences, and, like the locals, take a leisurely stroll
along the Promenade des Anglais to witness breathtaking sunsets over the
Mediterranean.
