Friends Nightclub Cannes

As anyone who has been to the French Riviera knows, the summer season is the busiest time of the year, and with Cannes being known worldwide as a top travel destination, a big part of that action in the city is the Friends Nightclub.

Open for a few years now, like any nightclub around the globe it has had to change with the times to keep relevant especially with the high use of personal apps these days. The difference you will find in the Cote d'Azur though is that being social is a big part of life rather than sitting at home online or passing your time on Grindr or Tinder in the hopes that someone comes along.

Being out and about is key and the Friends Nightclub is about bringing people together.

Cannes itself does not have a very large LGBT area in terms of businesses but there are plenty of members in this tight knit community and one of the places to gather from time to time is the Friends Nightclub.

In the past number of months the club has gone through some structural renovations, opening up the space to new events to bring in new people. The club is not known as a predominately gay establishment, it is gay-friendly though with a demographic of people in the average age range of 20-35 years old.

When there is a gay event going on, check Friends out, this is when the club is split up into various cruising and backroom areas, with special guest DJ drag queens thrown in the mix and during these parties expect it to be 100% gay men only.

If you are in Cannes and looking for something to do, on a gay or mixed event night be sure to visit the Friends Nightclub.

Unfortunately it looks like Friends Nightclub has closed for business.

La Cave Wilson

It has been said that with everyone seemingly on online nowadays for cheap entertainment purposes, and those in the gay community on all the latest hookup apps available, that in many cities around the world the bar and nightclub scene is slowly fading out.

One keeps expecting that to happen in the French Riviera, but so far that doesn’t seem to be the case, at least not in the city of Nice where a new establishment appears on the frequency to the tune of at least one or two a year.

Take for example La Cave Wilson, this latest hotspot to the LGBT community in Nice opened only a few months ago and is already a smash hit.

Known as the place to go after work for a drink or before heading out to the nightclubs on a weekend, with the addition of a cabaret drag show taking place at least once a week, La Cave Wilson has the most wonderful ambiance, especially if you love décor and nostalgia.
Instead of turning a new bar into the latest hipster establishment, the owners have stayed true to the original roots of the property with a nod to the looks of a Parisian style café in the roaring twenties.

Step in and be surrounded by old movie posters, chandeliers, classic mirrors and finer touches from a bygone era that are deep into the bones of this cool hangout.

With the staff doing a great job of making one feel right at home as soon as you enter with a smile and great service!

Whether establishments are closing or not in gay communities, in the city of Nice, getting out and being social always seems to be in style. So step away from those laptops and put the cell phone in your pocket and meet all kinds of cool people at La Cave Wilson.
